Biography

Artist Bio

Nailah Blackman is a Trinidadian singer and songwriter and one of the leading young voices in modern soca. Granddaughter of Garfield “Ras Shorty I” Blackman—credited with creating soca—she grew up immersed in the Blackman musical dynasty and began performing professionally as a teenager, quickly gaining attention for her fresh fusion of soca, pop, and Caribbean rhythms.

With hits like “Workout,” “Badish,” and other high-energy carnival anthems, Nailah has become a staple on major Caribbean stages and a frequent collaborator with regional and international acts. Her playful style, bold fashion, and ability to connect with both soca purists and global streaming audiences position her as a key bridge between classic Trinidadian culture and the new digital generation of fans.
