  • Origin of Name: He earned his nickname due to his habit of tying a shirt around his head and twisting his chin hair, resembling an Egyptian pharaoh.
  • Breakthrough: Gyptian’s career took off after winning the 2004 Star Search talent competition, which earned him a slot at the major Jamaican music festival Sting.
